What will be learnt during the course?

This Entry level course will cover the following topics:
1) Computer Basics – learning about basic computer jargon & terminology, how to use the computer and gaining those mouse and keyboard skills.
2) Introduction To The Desktop – understand the Desktop set-up and how to use the icons, learn how to move around within a Windows environment, create folders for your work and save your files to a USB Memory Stick/Flash Drive.
3) Introduction Microsoft Office, learn how to type in text, apply simple text formatting, use copy, cut and paste to edit and move text within a document/workbook/presentation, save and print your work.
4) The World Wide Web - learn about the Internet and how to search for specific information, download and print results.
5) E-Mail – learn how to compose and send a message, open a message and send a reply, set up an address book and stay safe online.

What level is the course? For whom is it appropriate and what skills or knowledge are needed before enrolment?

This Entry level course is suitable for beginners who are new to using computers, who wish to gain basic skills in the use of Computer, Internet and Email and Microsoft Office.
